Pregnant: Will Breastfeed
You haven’t seen nor held her, but you already love her more than life itself. As a promise, you will give her the best of everything – which is why you’ve decided to breastfeed. These reminders will help guide you during your first few weeks of breastfeeding:

- Breastfeeding can be hard to establish. It may take some time for you and baby to learn how to nurse effectively. After all, there is so much to learn without any practice at all for both of you. However, as long as you stick to it, you will learn how to hold baby properly and identify her cues as baby learns how to latch on to get a good amount of milk.

- You will be on call 24/7. You will be the only source of food for your newborn baby so you must always be around whenever she gets hungry. Most mothers welcome the time spent bonding with baby. As soon as milk supply is established, you may express milk with a pump and ease back into your old routine.

- Breastfeeding is painful ONLY if not done properly. Some mothers throw in the towel all too early due to the pain from breastfeeding. Truth is, you will experience soreness only if baby is not sucking the right way. When breastfeeding is done properly, you won’t wonder why they say that breastfeeding is not just best for baby – it’s best for mom too!
